Throughout my time at school I enjoyed much success with the Dollar Academy Pipes and Drums, and became the youngest Pipe Major of the band in my 3rd year of school (age 14). I was appointed the position of Pipe Major for four years of the highly successful band. Since leaving school I have played at many different weddings, burns suppers and corporate events, as well as busking my way around the United States! Please continue to read below for more detail on my credentials: With the band I have won the seven consecutive Scottish Schools CCF Pipes and Drums Competition, in which I was Pipe Major for four of the occasions. The band has performed worldwide, and in my last year as Pipe Major we represented Scotland at the World Festival of Folklore in Belgium. We have also had many victories and 2nd place results in the Glasgow Highland Club, Scottish Schools Quartets and George Watson’s Mini-Bands Competitions. In my final year the band competed on the RSPBA (Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association) with some notable results: British Championships: 2nd Place Cowal Highland Gathering: 3rd Place World Championships: 2nd Place Over the years I have played in and had success in several Solo Competitions, including winning the highly coveted Scottish Schools Solo Piping and the Stirling Mod – and have been placed in many more. I was also given the incredible opportunity to perform the solo for the National Anthem at Murrayfield in front of 62,000 spectators. My competition experience also includes playing with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlander’s, in which we competed at the British and World Championships. I have performed at many Burns Suppers, Weddings, Formal Dinners, Corporate Events and other engagements, and can tailor a performance to suit any occasion or venue.
